lighting inside

interior lighting falls into a few categories

  • decorative - often based on chandeliers and wall brackets and used to set the scene with extra lighting for daytime usage
  • uplighting - added to the perimeter walls to give colour combinations and to best effect after dark
  • effect lighting - to change the mood of a marquee event when dancing and other entertainment is used and this also is used later in most events
  • feature lighting - to spotlight individual props or displays to get the best visual effect

other forms of exterior lighting are used  as part of the overall lighting design

and outside

your guests must be able to move in and out of the marquee easily and safely and the level of outside lighting may need to be enhanced

the same applies to awnings leading to toilets and buildings and to adjacent parking areas

lighted flares or torches are very popular but do have a span of usage in some cases

decorative lighting or floodlighting when used to illuminate shrubs, trees and buildings has a dramatic effect and can either be installed completely or added to existing coverage

power distribution and health and safety considerations are key concerns

sound and pa

important for speeches and announcement and should be considered alongside entertainment and music that is being booked - a band or discotheque will have sound and pa but will it cover the whole marquee as opposed to just just the stage and dance floor - we have discotheques who can solve this potential problem
