pianists keyboard players and other solo musicians

many venues do not have pianos but those that do welcome the use of a versatile pianist as a feature during receptions and dinners

pianists cover a variety of music from light classical to jazz but most clients like a good mixture from an all round player

where there is no piano or no budget to hire a piano, the use of an electronic keyboard is a good alternative - the technology can give a greater variety of sounds but this is set off against a less favourable look

the use of a pianist or keyboard player is usually for ambient background music early on but can be extended to a late night area to follow a dinner or as an alternative or addition to the main dance area

singing keyboards & piano players

male or female - the combination of a good voice to their own keyboard or piano accompaniment adds an extra feature for those occasions where the music is intended to something more than purely incidental

some players lean towards a jazz style others have a very middle of the road style and others aim more in the contemporary world of pop classics

in all cases, PA equipment and possibly backing tracks add to the package and the cost is therefore greater than if the performance was purely instrumental

harp or guitar are the other two most favoured solo instruments - the harp is a really impressive instrument with a distinctived sound and there are numerous styles of guitar played on its own - finger style, to accompany vocals, flamenco, classical and jazz guitar
